Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by C.E. Juncker

(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade over a non-magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays interspersed with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, measuring 96.44 mm (w) x 25.50 mm (h), weighing 26.3 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost and the hinge displays a crude repair, in fair condition.
