Germany, Wehrmacht. A War Merit Cross I Class with Swords

(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Schwertern). Constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with an integral hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, unmarked, measuring 48.64 mm (w) x 48.06 mm (h), weighing 16.3 grams, with loss of finish and minor oxidation evident throughout, in fair condition.
