Germany, Heer. A Sports Shirt

(Heer Sporthemd) A well-preserved Heer sports shirt, constructed of white cotton. The shirt is sleeveless and features dual shoulder straps. Stitched onto the chest is an insignia consisting of a white cottonbacker bearing a machine-embroidered black Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 24 cm (w) x 13 cm (h) overall. It is unmarked with the exception of a tag stitched into the back of the collar bearing a black ink size mark of “46”. It measures approximately 40 cm (w) x 71.5 mm (l) when folded on a flat surface. Minor soiling consistent with period usage is evident, but the shirt remains in a near extremely fine condition.
