(Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Etui). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939-1945 issue; c. 1950 reissue). Constructed of silver with non-ferrous metal, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened non-magnetic metal core within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop and suspension ring, the latter retaining a shortened neck ribbon, the reverse twelve o’clock arm bearing a silver content number of “800”, measuring 49.08 mm (w) x 54.64 mm (h), weighing 28.1, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a padded white rayon lid liner with a depressed black felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 145 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), the case demonstrates minor material fatigue while the cross remains in a near mint condition.
