Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Tyrolean Marksmanship Badges

(Standschützenverband Tirol-Vorarlberg Abzeichen). A pair of Tyrolean Marksmanship Badges, including:

1. A 1944 Gau Champion’s Badge for Pistol Shooting, constructed of gilded and painted bronze, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central raised Tyrolean eagle clutching a bullseye target overlaid by a mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “1944”, above an inscription of “PISTOLE”, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.

2. A 1944 Champion’s Badge for Small Calibre Rifle Shooting, constructed of a bronzed zink alloy, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central raised Tyrolean eagle clutching a bullseye target overlaid by a mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “1944”, above an inscription of “KK-GEWEHR”, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 40 mm in diameter, with loss of finish evident to the obverse, in very fine condition.
