In silvered bronze and black enamels, unmarked, voided, measuring 59.7 mm (w) x 75.8 mm (h), both lugs intact, loss evident in the black enamels on the centrepiece to the left of the moose's head and inside the upper loop of the "S" on "RIFLES", contact marks, residue present from cleaning, near very fine.

 

Footnote: The Algonquin Regiment originated on July 1, 1900 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario as the 97th Regiment of Rifles. Sub-units were located in Thessalon, Sudbury and Sturgeon Falls. It was re-designated on June 1, 1903 as the 97th Regiment (Algonquin Rifles); re-designated on May 1, 1920 as The Algonquin Rifles; and re-designated on February 15, 1929 as The Algonquin Regiment.
