Instituted on February 5, 1816 by King Louis XVIII. A silver five point star with white enamel arms and ball finials, the obverse medallion in Gold features a right facing bust of Louis XVII, surrounded by a blue enamelled ring inscribed FIDELITE DEVOUEMENT, the reverse medallion in gold features a Fleur de Lis surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed 12 AVRIL 3 MAI 1814 19 MARS 8 JUILLET 1815, the star is surmounted by a stationary Fleur de Lis and large moveable crown above, measures 30.2mm (w) x 50.4mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), weighs 9.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), worn on original blue and white ribbon, light war, small enamel chips in the obverse and reverse blue surround, dark patina, in very fine condition.
