(Heer Schiffchen M35 für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer EM/NCO’s M35 overseas cap, constructed of black wool. The cap is surrounded by fold-down side walls which are scalloped toward the front, and is flanked on each side by ventilation holes reinforced with black-painted zink grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a field-grey rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 74 mm (w) x 32 mm (h) overall. Directly below the eagle, the centre of the walls features a machine-embroidered tri-colour cockade set onto a field-grey rayon backer measuring 38 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), surrounded by a rose-pink soutache. The interior is fully encompassed by a grey cotton-blended liner. Stamped onto the crown in black ink is a maker’s mark of “WILLY SPRENGPFEIL, HAMBURG”, a manufacture date of “1938”, and a size mark of “57”. It measures approximately 29 cm (l) x 12 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating no evident wear or damage, it is in an overall extremely fine condition.
