(Cruz de Guerra). Instituted in 1938.  Type I (1938-1942). Centrepiece insignia in bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, the insignia centering a silver gilt wreath with cross and backed by crossed swords, the four arms of the cross bearing the Franco crown, two facing lions and a castle, mounted to a silver eight-pointed star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted rays, unmarked, measuring 62.8 mm (w) x 62.8 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine.
