Germany, Kriegsmarine. A High Seas Fleet Badge, by Friedrich Orth

(Flottenkriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of a oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Orth, Vienna, measuring 44.15 mm (w) x 57.60 mm (h), weighing 27.2 grams, the finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition.
