(Den Kongelige Norske Sankt Olavs Orden). Instituted in 1847 by King Oscar I. In 18K Gold, the badge presents a white enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials, between each arms sit a crowned O, the obverse medallion features a superimposed rampant lion on a red enamelled field surrounded by white, blue, and white rings, the reverse medallion features the inscription RET OG SANDHED on a red enamelled field surrounded by white, blue and white rings, the badge is surmounted by a crown with enamel details, measures 61.2mm (w) x 87mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension), weighs 87.8 grams (including ribbon), marked J.T and 750 on suspension ring, worn on full length sash, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the Star, a silver four-point star with clusters of faceted rays, the central medallion features a white enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials, between each arms sit a crowned O, the obverse medallion features a superimposed rampant lion on a red enamelled field surrounded by white, blue, and white rings, the reverse features a single vertical pin, the cartouche bears the maker mark of J. TOSTRUP OSLO 1832, measure 79.5mm (w) x 79.3mm (h), weighs 82.0 grams, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.

Contained in its original case of issue, a red leathered exterior impressed DEN KGL. NORSKE St. OLAVS ORDEN with crown, the interior presents a crème coloured silk lid liner with maker mark TOSTRUP, the base bears a removable red velvet recessed medalbed (with slot for rosette, also included), measures 130mm (w) x 230mm (l) x 50mm (h), two buttons on the front for closure (both functional), light wear, case in extremely fine condition.
