(Charlottenkreuz mit Etui). Instituted 5 January 1916 by King Wilhelm II. (1916-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Shamrock Cross with ribbed borders highlighted in black, the obverse bearing the central integrated monograms of King Wilhelm II and Queen Charlotte, the reverse bearing a central raised institution date of “1916”, unmarked, measuring 40.35 mm (w) x 44.95 mm (h), weighing 14.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux maroon leather liner, the lid bearing a silvered Württemberg coat of arms, the interior with a depressed black velvet medal bed, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 12 mm (h), with moderate tarnishing and material fatigue visible to the cross and case, respectively, in overall very fine condition.
