(Георгиевский крест). Instituted February 1807 by Tsar Alexander I. Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central raised depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, the reverse bearing a central raised disc with Cyrillic characters “СГ” (“SG”) as the saint’s monogram, the three and nine o’clock arms etched ‘No 32289”, the six o’clock arm bearing an inscription of “3 СТЕП” (3rd Class), the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a suspension ring, unmarked, measuring 34.1mm (w) x 40.9mm (h – inclusive of suspension ring), weighs 10.9 grams, light oxidation, contact marks to arms, accompanied by a correct replacement ribbon, remains in very fine condition.
