United Kingdom. A 1902 Commemorative Coronation Medal of King Edward and Queen Alexandra from Stalybridge

In silver, the obverse presents two right facing portraits of King Edward and Queen Alexandra, the reverse presents a coat of arms surrounded by the inscription CORONATION 1902 STALYBRDIGE SIMPSON, MAYOR. With silver hallmarks present at 3 o’clock denoting Birmingham manufacture, lion passant, and date mark for 1897, with W.J.D makers mark at 9 o’clock for maker W.J Dingley, measures 38.6mm (w) x 45.3mm (h – inclusive of integral ball suspension), weighs 34.0 grams, notable edge knocks and several contact marks on reverse, in very fine condition.
