Item #G53071

$200
(Luftwaffe Tropenhose). A well-preserved pair of Luftwaffe tropical trousers, constructed of a khaki-tan cotton twill. They feature an integral belt consisting of a hollow channel set into the waistbant, retaining a strap of identical construction which emanates from two ends and which retains an aluminum buckle on the left. The trousers have a French fly consisting of five hidden bakelite buttons meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes. Two pockets are set into the upper left thighs, opening with reinforced diagonal slits, with an additional large pocket set into the upper left thigh, topped by a scalloped flap with a hidden reinforced buttonhole meeting a brown bakelite button. A further two pockets are set into the reverse of both legs, similarly closing with scalloped flaps. Both ankles feature hidden straps, similarly retaining aluminum buckles, permitting a flush closure with the wearer’s footwear. The interior features a partial white cotton liner set around the waistband. Faint traces of illegible marks are visible on the liner, and the trousers measure approximately 44 cm across the waist, with an inseam of 33 cm, and an overall length of 92 cm. Sporadic stains consistent with mold exposure are visible throughout the waistband, and the trousers remain in a very fine condition.
