Germany, Wehrmacht. A German Cross in Gold, Cloth Version for Panzer Personnel

(Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, Stoffausführung). Constructed of a black wool base indicating issue to Panzer personnel, the obverse overlaid by an eight-pointed dark grey threaded starburst with silver aluminum wire rays emanating from the arms, bearing a central white embroidered disc overlaid by a black mobile swastika with arms trimmed by fine silver aluminum wire, set within a gilded laurel wreath which is wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a date of “1941”, trimmed along both the interior and exterior edges with red threading, along with silver aluminum wire along the latter edge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), weighing 6.4 grams, with some fatigue visible to the black wool underlay, in uniform-removed and near extremely fine condition.
