Germany, Wehrmacht. An Italian Camouflage Field Tunic

Item #G53073

$1,080
(Waffenrock). A well-preserved field tunic constructed of a weather-hardened cotton duck material. The exterior is dyed in a classic Italian camouflage used by Wehrmacht and SS personnel, with a mottle consisting of a light olive-drab overlaid by irregular splotches of light and dark brown. It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels. Set into the breast flaps are four pleated pockets closing with scalloped flaps, all perforated with reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled zink buttons. The tunic closes with six pebbled zink buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. The interior is plain and unmarked. It measures approximately 48 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 59 cm, and an overall body length of 69 cm. Minor material fatigue consistent with light wartime use is evident, but the tunic remains in an overall extremely fine condition.
