Austria, Imperial. An Order of Leopold, Grand Cross Star with Swords and War Decoration by Rothe, c.1960

Instituted January 8, 1808. Of post war Rothe manufacture, an eight point silver star with clusters of faceted rays, the obverse medallion presents a red and white enamelled cross pattee, with a War Decoration of golden coloured wreath in each quadrant, silver swords pierce the medallion, the center of the medallion presents the inscription FIA on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a white ring inscribed INTEGRITATI ET MERITO, the reverse presents a single pin assembly, the pin bears a maker mark of ROTHE WIEN, measures 92.8mm (w) x 92.8mm (h), weighs 98.6 grams, enamels intact, lovely patina, in extremely fine condition.
