A framed promotion certificate to Max Flecks of the Schutzpolizei (Protection Police, the police force of the Third Reich), stating that he is being promoted from Oberwachtmeister (chief constable) to Revier-Oberwachtmeister (district chief constable). This rank corresponds with the SS rank of sergeant. The certificate also serves as a reminder to Flecks that he shall remain true to his official oath and be worthy of the trust placed in him, and that he can be sure of the special protection of the Führer. It is signed in Gießen on Nov 1st, 1942 by a major and commander of the protection police. The name is indecipherable.
