Upper fabricated from die-stamped silvered bronze, the spine incorporating two hexagon-shaped nuts bearing six-sided ornate designs linked via two strands of twisted wire at the neck end, each of the wires flanking a raised bar in the centre, both nuts secured in place via prongs on the underside, one of the epaulettes with an additional oval-shaped silvered metal disk and support plate with screwpost added. Further down the spine are eight scalloped panels, terminating at the wide oval cap that incorporates a raised crescent-shaped rim. Two rows of tightly-wound silvered copper wire fringe are suspended at the end, each of the coils measuring approximately 105 mm in length. The underside is in black wool, with thick pillow pads encased in navy blue wool and framed by white thatched embroidered rolls under the oval caps, with a large clip for uniform attachment in the centre. One epaulette exhibits surface wear on the oval cap, both with some discolouration present. The wool items and embroidered rolls are free of mothing on both, the fring without interruptions.
