Footnote: A streamer message would have been dropped in a weighted bag with a long streamer flying behind. This message was dropped by the Royal Flying Corps on the German airdrome of Jasta 4 at Roupy in late July 1917.

Pilot Sergeant Ernest Clausnitzer was shot down by 2nd Lieutenant Langsland of the 23rd RFC Squadron, south of the Poperinghe intact. He was made a POW on July 16, 1917. Prior to being captured, Clausnitzer had three aerial victories.
