(Bandenkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a raised skull and crossbones, overlaid by a vertical sword bearing a sunwheel-style swastika at the ricasso, in turn plunging into a nest of vipers, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a type 3 variation, measuring 49.75 mm (w) x 58.38 mm (h), weighing 32.5 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish in near extremely fine condition.
