Germany, Wehrmacht. An Anti-Partisan Badge, Bronze Grade

(Bandenkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a raised skull and crossbones, overlaid by a vertical sword bearing a sunwheel-style swastika at the ricasso, in turn plunging into a nest of vipers, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch situated atop a round baseplate, unmarked but with the characteristics of a type 3.2 variation, measuring 49.78 mm (w) x 58.68 mm (h), weighing 34.9 grams, demonstrating total loss of finish and minor oxidation, in very fine condition.
