Germany, SS. A Rare Germanic Proficiency Runes Badge, Bronze Grade

(Germanische Leistungsrune in Bronze). Constructed of lacquered and bronzed zink with enamels, the obverse consisting of a sunwheel-style mobile swastika with ribbed arms, bearing central dual black enameled Sig runes, the reverse with four visible clips securing the obverse runes in place, with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 45.38 mm (w) x 45.36 mm (h), weighing 20.8 grams, moderate oxidation and loss of finish is visible throughout the base metal and minor scratching and fine hairline cracks are visible to the enamels, an exceptionally rare decoration, possibly ground found, remains near fine.
