(Königliche Kronen-Orden, Kreuz III. Klasse). Instituted January 18, 1861, by King Wilhelm I. Type II (1867-1918). In 14 Kt Gold, a white enamel cross pattee, the obverse medallion features a large crown surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed GOTT MIT UNS (God With Us), the reverse medallion presents the cypher WR in the center with a blue enamel surround inscribed DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861, engraved 85723 on the top of the 12 o’clock arm, measures 40.4mm (w) x 43.7mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 10.8 grams, worn on a replacement blue ribbon, enamels intact, a lovely decoration in extremely fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, a black leatherette exterior with a crowned WR cypher in the center, white silk interior lid and maroon velvet recessed medal bed in the base, measures 65mm (w) x 80mm (h) x 25mm (d), light wear, hinge and clasp functional, in very fine condition.
