Hesse-Darmstadt, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Star of Brabant, II Class Honour Cross

(Orden Stern von Brabant Ehrenkreuz II. Klasse). Instituted 24 June 1914 by Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with dark blue enameled arms, bearing a central dark blue enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt eight-rayed star, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 54.82 mm (w) x 54.83 mm (h), weighing 29.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
