Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a narrow Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by arabesque latticework, the obverse with transparent green enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled medallion with a detailed and hand-painted depiction of Zähringen Castle, set within a ribbed gilt ring, the reverse bearing a central red enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt lion rampant, similarly within a ribbed gilt ring, unmarked, measuring 37.92 mm (w) x 41.55 mm (h), weighing 15.8 grams, with minor tarnishing visible to the silver base, in near extremely fine condition.
