(Königlicher Kronen-Orden Kreuz IV. Klasse). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms the obverse bearing a central raised crown, set within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilded inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central monogram of King Wilhelm I, set within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilded institution date of “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861”, the centrepiece maker marked between the six and nine o’clock arms (when viewed from the obverse) by the logo of Gebrüder Friedländer, Berlin, measuring 42.96 mm (w) x 47.35 mm (h), weighing 15.3 grams, a striking example in near mint condition.
