(Schulterklappen). A mixed lot of 42 Imperial German Army shoulder straps and collar insignia, featuring examples from the Dunkelblau (dark blue) and later Feldgrau (Field Grey) dress and field uniforms, featuring examples from uncommon units, including a variety of Verkehrstruppen with examples from balloonist and telegraph units, as well as rare Guards units, consisting of 19 matching sets of shoulder straps and collar tabs supplemented by three single examples, carefully sewn together with heavy hand stitching, likely assembled by a veteran for postwar display, unmarked and measuring 74 cm (w) x 48 cm (h) overall, demonstrating moderate material fatigue consistent with age wartime wear, an interesting assembly in near extremely fine condition.
