(Schlesischer Adler II. Klasse). Constructed of patinated and silvered tombak, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a Silesian-style German national eagle clutching a silvered banner bearing an inscription of “FÜR SCHLESIEN” (“FOR SILESIA”) in its talons, overlaid across the chest by a silvered crescent and cross, unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of manufacture by Godet, Berlin, measuring 32.18 mm (w) x 45.36 mm (h), weighing 24.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), with minor verdigris visible to lower edge of the eagle’s left wing and tail feathers, a scarce and high-quality version in extremely fine condition.
