Vatican, Papal State. An Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Commander Variation

(Ordine del Santo Sepolcro / Ordo Equestris Sancti Sepulcri Hierosolymitani = OESSH). Instituted in 1099, re-organized in 1847. A distinct commander variation in silver gilt, red and white enamelled Jerusalem cross, reverse mirrors the obverse, a trophy of arms suspension is worn on a full-length red neck ribbon, measures 37.4mm (w) x 75.7mm (h – inclusive of trophy suspension), weighs 30.4 grams including replacement black neck ribbon, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
