Germany, Wehrmacht. An Azad Hind Medal, Bronze Grade with Swords

(Medaille des Ordens Azad Hind in Bronze mit Schwertern). Constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised inscription of “AZAD HIND”, topped by a lion’s head, above a lily, the reverse bearing a central raised inscriptions of “INDIENS FREIHEITSKAMPFE” (“INDIA’S FREEDOM STRUGGLE”) within a latticed background, topped by a crossed sword clasp indicating combatant issue, unmarked, measuring 36.40 mm (w) x 50.54 mm (h), weighing 20.8 grams, with only minor loss of finish evident, a scare decoration in near extremely fine condition.
