A unique Naval Front Clasp of multi-piece bronze construction, the obverse consisting of a central oval ring surrounding a fouled anchor, flanked on each side by eight oak leaves, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, situated above a stabilizing bar, unmarked, measuring 93.84 mm (w) x 25.80 mm (h), weighing 34.2 grams, the reverse bearing crude soldiering consistent with field construction, accompanied by its award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to “OBERLEUTNATN Z. SEE OTTO KEIL”, issued onboard a vessel on 1 March 1 1945 and certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified Fregattenkapitän, flanked by a unusual wartime yet denazified stamp, measuring 14 cm (w) x 22 cm (h), a classic field-made set in near extremely fine condition.
