This is a unique and certainly one-of-a-kind honourary award for 25-year long employment with the Danzig Train Service, presented to conductor Max Umland. The award reads “To the member, Mr. Conductor Max Umland, for his 25-year long employment anniversary - awarded by the Employee’s Union of the train and habor civil officials and civil official candidates from the region of the Free City of Danzig”. It is dated June 14, 1938 in Danzig and features seven signatures and facsimiles in blue ink near the bottom of the page. The document is mounted within a tiger-patterned wooden frame that appears to be the original frame of issue. The frame measures 460 mm x 343 mm, with a triangular frame hook in the center of the top of the frame for wall mounting. Overall, the document shows some signs of aging, but is overall extremely well preserved.
