(Reichsfeuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms bearing stylized flames, joined together through the quadrants by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM FEUERLÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIRE-FIGHTING”), bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a mobile swastika, the reverse maker marked “GLASER & SOHN, DRESDEN”, measuring 43.04 mm (w) x 47.57 mm (h), weighing 17.5 grams, with minor flecking and scratching visible to the enamels in addition to minor loss of finish to the base metal, in very fine condition.
