Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a central white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel overlaid by an enameled HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “GAUSIEGER 1938”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 48.14 mm (w) x 46.94 mm (h), weighing 29.2 grams, flecking is visible to the enamels in addition to small chips at the top and bottom of the HJ insignia, in near extremely fine condition.
