Constructed of bronze, consisting of a depiction of a Heer soldier executed in exceptional detail with all uniform insignia and accessories clearly identifiable, with the figure advancing forward and clutching a stick grenade which he is about to throw towards the enemy position ahead, situated atop a rectangular plinth, with one side engraved with an inscription reading “WESTFRONT 1940, II. ZUG, 7. KOMP.”, the bottom revealing two original rivets and washers to securely hold the figure in place, maker marked with the logo of H. von Beusekom, Gladbeck, measuring 10 cm (w) x 16 cm (l) x 31 cm (h), with minor scratching and loss of finish visible to high-contact points at the edges and corners, a striking example in extremely fine condition.
