Germany, Luftwaffe. A Mint Observer’s Badge, by Gebrüder Wegerhoff

Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a narrow barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid, measuring 52.54 mm (w) x 52.74 mm (h), weighing 44.4 grams, a rare and striking example of a badge retaining all of its original frosted finish and demonstrating no wear or damage, impossible to upgrade and in mint condition.
