Germany, Wehrmacht. A Tank Destruction Badge, Silver Grade

(Panzervernichtungsabzeichen). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a raised and detailed profile of a Panzer IV, affixed with two attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a silver aluminum wire backer, the obverse of the latter trimmed along both the top and bottom edges with machine-embroidered black tresses, the insignia measuring 42.84 mm (w) x 17.87 mm (h), minor oxidation and loss of finish is visible to the insignia, one of the three attachment prongs is missing, and minor material fatigue is evident to the wire backer, in overall very fine condition.
