Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, II Class for 18 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei, II. Klasse für 18 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval medallion bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.13 mm (w) x 47.86 mm (h), weighing 22.7 grams, with minor tarnishing and loss of finish visible, in near extremely fine condition.
