Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjäger, respectively, flanked by a date of “1940”, topped by an inscription of “NARVIK” and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed will all four reverse attachment prongs to a dark blue wool backer indicating Kriegsmarine issue, with a fully-intact zink core, unmarked, the badge measuring 40.63 mm (w) x 90.70 mm (h), with minor loss of finish evident, a well-preserved zinc example in near extremely fine condition.
