Constructed of 18k Gold (unmarked, but tested), the obverse consisting of a knotted ring, overlaid by a stylized banner bearing an engraved inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), topped by a finely-detailed royal crown, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback, meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 25.30 mm in diameter, weighing 4.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame, the exterior with a faux dark purple exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt embossed monogram of Queen Auguste Victoria, the interior with a padded white rayon-blended lid liner and intact hinge cover, the lid maker marked “H.J. WILM, HOFJUWELIER SR. MAJ. D. KAISERS, BERLIN”, with a slotted beige velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 54 mm (w) x 54 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), circa 1900; an exquisite decoration with its original case in overall extremely fine condition.
