Romania, Republic. The Order of 23rd August, II Class in Gold of Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej

In solid 14Kt. Gold (hallmarked on reverse) with twenty-four embedded old European cut natural diamonds surrounding the red, light blue, dark blue, yellow, dark green and white enamelled coat-of-arms, weighing 52.4 grams, catch stamped "1" hallmarked and maker marked "MS" (for Romanian State Mint) on the reverse, measuring 53.7 mm x 55 mm, horizontal pinback, near mint and very rare.

Accompanied by an original document from the personal effects and estate of Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej. A Construction Brigades of the Union of the Working Youth Brigadier's Card, hardcover, black and white photo, numbered "1", measuring 67 mm x 103 mm, fine.
