Romania, Republic. An Order of 23rd August, I Class Star in Gold, belonging to Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej

Of superb quality, in solid 14.Kt Gold (hallmarked on the pin MS - State Mint, along with 14Kt. hallmark) featuring twenty-four embedded natural diamonds surrounding the red, light blue, dark blue, yellow, dark green and white enamelled coat-of-arms, each of the ten rays with six embedded natural diamonds, weighing 52.6 grams,  measuring 52.8 mm x 54.7 mm, horizontal pinback, catch marked (stamped) "1"; accompanied by its 24.5 mm (w) x 10 mm ribbon bar, in its hardshelled case of issue, marked "ORDINUL "23 AUGUST" CL. I" on the lid, recessed medal bed and ribbon bar bed), near mint.


Accompanied by the official Award Document for the Order of 23rd August, I Class, Star; printed in black ink on a white card stock, emboss stamped, numbered "308" and dated August 12, 1959, measuring 75 mm x 107 mm, very fine.
