Senegal, Republic. A National Order of Merit, III Class Commander with Case

(Ordre national du mérite). Instituted in 1960. Three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with forest green, black, red and yellow enamels, unmarked, measuring 58.3 mm (w) x 61 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, intact enamels, on its original full-length neck ribbon, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, forest green dimpled paper exterior, inside lid in white vinyl and padded, base with a platform in light green felt and incorporating a recessed area for its missing rosette, measuring 87.5 mm (w) x 158 mm (h) x 39 mm (d), contact marks evident on the exterior, light soiling in the light felt of the medal bed, case better than very fine.
