(Wishan al-Kuwait). Instituted in 1974. Type I (1974-1990). Six-piece construction, in silvered and gilt silver with red, white, green, black, light blue and dark green enamels, inscription on the reverse cartouche, measuring 49 mm (w) x 50.7 mm (h), the loop in bronze gilt, crazing evident in the red and white enamels on the four-colour Kuwait shield, scattered silvering and gilt wear, spotting present on the white enamels on the centrepiece, on its original full-length neck ribbon which has been soiled at its centrepoint (possibly from the loop), very fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of Kuwait was instituted in 1974 and is awarded for outstanding service to the nation, in eight grades: Riband of the Special Class, I Class, Medallion of the Special Class, Medallion of the I Class, II Class, III Class, IV Class and V Class.
