Finland, Republic. An Order of the White Rose, I Class Knight by A. Tillander

(Suomen Valkoisen Ruusun ritarikunta). Instituted January 28, 1919 by Baron Mannerheim. Type II. Civil Division. In silver gilt, a white enamel cross with lions holding swords in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a white enamelled rose surrounded by a blue ring, the reverse is plain, measures 40.40mm (w) x 45.6mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 30.8 gram (including ribbon), marked on ring with makers mark for A. Tillander, 813H silver fineness mark, and crown, worn on original blue ribbon, very minor enamel chip on the obverse 12 o’clock arm, otherwise in extremely fine condition.
