(Ordem da Instrução Pública). Instituted April 18, 1927. In silver, an eight point silver star with clusters of nine smooth rays, with a large overlaid blue enamelled eight point star on top with a gilt wreath around the central medallion which bears a red and white enamelled shield, surrounded by a white enamel ring engraved INSTRUCAO PUBLICA, the reverse presents a single vertical pin, with central makers mark of FREDERICO DA COSTA, measures 81.6mm (w) x 82.7mm (h), weighs 86.8 grams, enamels intact, light wear, silver is well toned, catch has trapped pin on reverse, in near extremely fine condition.
