Norway, Kingdom. An Army Sharpshooter Proficiency Badge, II Class Silver Grade

(Den norske hærens skyteferdighetsmerke). Instituted in 1924. In silver, marked "830 S" (silver) and maker marked on the reverse, measuring 25 mm (w) x 46.2 mm (h), light contact and surface wear, original ribbon with pinback, better than very fine.

Footnote: The Sharpshooter Proficiency Badge was instituted in 1924 and until 1945, came in three classes: I Class Gold Grade, II Class Silver Grade and III Class Bronze Grade. These were instituted during the reign of King Haakon VII (1905-1957) and were strictly awarded to members of the Norwegian Army.
