(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for to a recipient with First World War and police service, the latter likely including security at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It features four decorations, including:
1. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 with Swords, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of L. Christian Lauer, Nuremberg, measuring 37.64 mm (w) x 40.80 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A Police Long Service Decoration, II Class for 18 Years, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval medallion overlaid by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.21 mm (w) x 47.93 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A German Olympic Commemorative Medal, constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised column topped by Olympic rings, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPICS GAMES 1936”), unmarked, measuring 37.02 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
4. A Hungarian War Commemorative Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 37.02 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
All suspended from a 125 mm-long magnetic metal bar with a horizontal pinback and red wool reverse liner, with slight mothing visible to the liner and some bending evident to the metal core, in verify fine condition.
